Since 2015 we’ve grown into a profitable bootstrapped business with a strong ecommerce presence, wholesale partnerships with Nordstrom and Saks, and 9 retail locations that will grow to 15 in 2023. This opportunity will allow you to help shape the growing $30B floral market, impacting how existing and future customers connect with Venus et Fleur’s luxury goods. In this role you will have the tremendous opportunity to build a B2B business from the ground up – identifying key industries and partners and building out selling opportunities in multiple luxury verticals.

We specialize in lush, customizable precision arrangements of real flowers that maintain freshness for over a year and are currently expanding into the luxury home goods category – and this is just the beginning.

 

We are looking for a dynamic and growth-oriented Vice President of Business Development who will spearhead our strategic partnerships and drive the expansion of our B2B business. Role Responsibilities:

  • You will be at the forefront of building our B2B business from scratch, identifying and pitching new business opportunities to employers, hospitality groups, and other relevant sectors.
  • You will establish and cultivate trusted partnerships, showcasing how Venus et Fleur products align with and fulfill the unique business needs of our clients and prospects, developing a deep understanding of how our products fit their use case.
  • You will autonomously build and manage a robust sales pipeline, consistently exceeding sales quotas and leading by example to support your team in achieving the same level of success.
  • You will prepare persuasive prospect proposals, skillfully negotiate business terms, and oversee the entire contractual process.
  • You will drive the growth of the business by expanding and training the sales team, fostering a culture of thought leadership and sales excellence.
  • You will demonstrate a strong passion for learning about our products and markets through both in-house and external training opportunities.
  • You will provide strategic recommendations to management regarding business opportunities that will unlock new or enhanced revenue streams for Venus et Fleur, delivering concise and thorough advice.

Job requirements:

  • The ideal candidate will possess luxury marketplace expertise, an entrepreneurial spirit and a proven track record of leading and managing teams in direct sales (experience in corporate gifting and the hospitality industry is a plus but not required).
  • You should have 10+ years of experience working in sales, business development, or strategic partnerships, demonstrating your expertise in driving growth and forging meaningful business relationships.
  • You have a natural ability to craft and communicate compelling business narratives, deeply understanding the goals and objectives of prospects and leading the sales process accordingly.
  • Your skill set includes strong prospecting, qualifying, and negotiating abilities, with a consultative sales approach centered around providing tailored business solutions.
  • As a self-starter, you thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment, and can effectively work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
